Greatness is already within you!
The other morning as I was getting ready for the day God kept repeating this statement to me "Seeds of greatness have already been planted inside of you. Tend your garden to reap the harvest." Then as I was listening to a sermon the preacher said something very profound. He said "Whatever you were born to do is NOT ahead of you, it's within you." So as I started to think about that I realized that many people are always searching for their "purpose" or their "gifts". God is saying search no more you already possess your gifts & purpose. It's locked inside of you. You have to nurture and grow the seeds that have already been planted so that you can walk in your greatness.
We tend to get caught up chasing things and people thinking that they have the answers of "What are my gifts? What's my purpose in this life?" But your purpose and gifts have been with you the whole time. Not everyone was created to be an instagram model or a celebrity (sorry I just crushed some dreams but it's the truth). I hear some people say things like I'm just a mom or just a construction worker. YOU'RE NOT JUST A ANYTHING! Do you hear me? You are needed. We need people that do ALL things on this earth. We need moms, dads, laborers, servers, teachers, farmers, etc. If we all did the same thing our world would come crashing down. God has given us each different gifts & talents. This diversity is what makes our world function.
Your gifts and purpose are the things that come naturally to you. The things that you are your best at. Steve Harvey talks a lot about people who he knows and how they have what some people think of as menial or simple jobs. He talks about how they built amazing empires doing those so called simple or menial jobs. Like mowing lawns or cutting hair or how Marie Calendar's started with 1 pie & has become a major corporation.
What these people have in common is that they took the seeds that were planted inside of them and they tended their gardens to reap the harvest God intended for them. DO NOT underestimate the things that you do best in this life and DO NOT let anyone tell you that you are "Just" a ______ (you fill in the blank). We need you no matter what your gifts and talents are. You have a place in this world.
